Mouse - 2009

I've been working on helping my dance studio's production of The Nutcracker. Helping get costumes sorted, set aside those in need of repair, etc. My teacher has also started a 'Caitlinn Bag' where she puts any costumes she finds that she doesn't need/want anymore, and I then go through and pick out what I want to keep and what will go to the thrift store, as before I came along and said 'I'll take any stuff you don't want!' she'd make periodic thrift store runs. Which makes me wonder how much of it I've bought! I really don't need more stuff, but I can't say no.

So, yes! Between that and rehersals, I've been in a very Nutcracker mood. My favourite scene tends to be the fight scene between the mice and the toy soldiers, so tonight I did makeup based off it. *smiles* Our mice and soldiers probably won't be wearing makeup, sadly; they're played by younger children who have a habit of getting makeup all over costumes despite best attempts. Sort of sad; a bunch of little kids running around in this makeup would be adorable!
